If you come by car, please use it sparingly - there are car parks at locations marked 'P' on the maps in the River Parrett Trail Guide.

If you park in a pub car park you must get permission from the landlord/lady before leaving your car there. Many hotels, bed & breakfasts and camping sites will be able to offer secure parking as well as arrange to transport your luggage to another destination on the trail.

Come by pedal power or hire bicycles. This is good bicycling country with many quiet roads and there are several cycle routes in the area. This is a good way to mix activities while you are here.

The local buses can be useful; they are regular but not plentiful. Local taxis are more convenient and work out reasonably inexpensive if several people share.

Local Bus Services: Local and regional bus companies provide a comprehensive service, with many routes connecting the larger towns and villages at frequent intervals throughout the day.

Journey Timetable and Information: Please go to the Traveline website at www.travelinesw.com for detailed information on point-to-point travel by public transport, or alternatively visit the First Group bus service website at www.firstgroup.com .

Taxis: In town taxis will charge you on a time basis but for a country journey they will probably be willing to quote you a fixed fare. You should choose a service close to one end of your journey and if there is a choice then it would be worth comparing quoted prices. Taxi companies are listed in the River Parrett Trail Guide.

Detailed information is contained in the River Parrett Trail Guide.
